The next winter storms will arrive tomorrow spanning from the central US to the Northeast bringing another round rain, ice, sleet and snow; plus, more weather news and today’s forecast.
After a brief lull, a new round of winter storms will spread from the central US to the Northeast beginning on Wednesday. The first storm moves in on Tuesday night and into early Wednesday, and will bring a wintry mix and a bit of snow to the central Plains and upper Midwest.
But the heavier storm arrives Wednesday night through Friday, delivering a large swath of snow to the Central and Northeast states, spanning from Kansas to the Great Lakes, affecting Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
The storm will move east over the weekend bringing a wintry mix and snow to Michigan, Ohio, portions of the Virginias and the New England states.
A storm bringing severe weather will move across the Plains into the deep South beginning Wednesday and continuing through Friday delivering heavy rains, severe thunderstorms, and the risk of flash flooding.
Starting on Wednesday, durations of heavy rain will span across central and eastern Texas, spreading northward into Eastern Kansas and southern Missouri.
On Thursday into Thursday night, the storms move north and eastward, bringing the strongest potential of severe weather along the Gulf to the southern portions of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle.
Thursday’s storms will affect Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Western Tennessee, southern Missouri, and southern Illinois.
The storms continue east and northeast on Friday, moving into southern Indiana, Kentucky, western Virginia, middle and eastern Tennessee, the western Carolinas, Alabama, Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle.
More wet weather arrives to the northwest Tuesday night, with snow and a wintry mix for Central and Eastern Washington, while most of Oregon will see snow. Mostly rain is forecast for the Western and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington.
Central and northern Idaho will also experience snowfall, with a wintry mix for a section of the Northwest portion of the state.
Snow is also forecast for the western edge of Montana and Northwest Wyoming.
Rain and snow are also forecast for northernmost California.
Rain, snow, and showers will continue for Oregon, Washington, and Idaho through Wednesday night, and snowfall will affect a larger portion of Western Montana, and continues for Northwest Wyoming.
