Sunny and warmer weather is on tap for a large section of the country for the next couple of days, except for the Northwest and the upper Midwest; plus, today’s US weather outlook and forecast.

Most of the US will see a warming trend, but gloomy in Northwest

Portions of the Southwest will see sunny weather and a warm up, as will portions of the Southeast and in particular the Northeast over the next couple of days. You can expect it to begin on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the Northwest will see just the opposite, with gloomy weather.

The forecast calls for mountain snow for the northern Rockies and cold weather for the upper Midwest and Great Lakes area.

Threat of nor’easter… Moves east

Earlier in the week forecasters were reporting a potential nor’easter to arrive by the weekend disrupting travel, but now the storm forecast to begin strong development in the Gulf of Mexico on Friday will instead move off of the Carolinas further into the Atlantic as it heads Northeast.
