As the seasons change, bugs become more active. They seem to literally come out of the woodwork.
The spring bugs are coming out of their dormant period and reproduction is their prime instinct. Reproduction takes food. The rainy spring drives ants inside, looking for higher, drier ground. A few ants here and there probably aren’t a problem, but keep an eye out for large groups, large numbers, or piles of fallen wings. These could be signs of a major infestation of ants or termites.
While mosquitos aren’t generally a problem in your house, they can become a big problem in your yard, and if you enjoy sitting outside enjoying the long summer evenings, they become a big problem for you.
Their itchy bites may seem tolerable, but they can carry deadly diseases like West Nile and Encephalitis. Keep citronella plants, candles, or air fresheners around your yard as a natural bug repellant.
