The United States is so big, sometimes snow and fires happen in the same state at the same time! This happened earlier this week in Utah, where what residents call ‘Juneuary’ began as snow fell.
The Northern Rockies and nearby areas are currently experiencing ‘Juneuary.’ On Monday, Alta, UT, in the north was 57º F. That same day, Salt Lake City saw a low of 45º F for a low and a high of 66º F.
Meanwhile, severe fires are still burning in other areas of the state. In fact, more than one of the fires burning in Utah was caused by man. At least one of them was caused by fireworks fun gone wrong.
Utah has now banned fireworks in certain parts of the state and on certain days. This is in an effort to mitigate the damage that reckless use of fireworks can cause. Celebrate safely this weekend!
