Temperatures are going to plummet in parts of the West, Northwest, Northern Rockies and upper Midwest over the weekend, making it feel like winter in some locations.

Let it snow … In June?

Summerlike warm and even hot winter actually began in May, for many places. In fact, June definitely kicked off like the heart of summer in many places prior to the season’s official start date.

However, a freakish cool down is coming over the weekend, so don’t put that body wash cream for dry skin away just yet.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Winter-like conditions will bring mixed precipitation over several states beginning on Saturday, continuing into Sunday, when at least three states will see snowfall – yes, snow in June!

Saturday brings a wintry mix

At least 7 states will receive a wintry mix of slushy rain on Saturday. Mixed precipitation will fall over northern and eastern California; northern half of Nevada; throughout most of Oregon; central northern and eastern Washington, central and northern Idaho, Western Montana, and Western Wyoming.

Sunday delivers a wintry mix and snowfall

On Sunday, the cool weather will continue and deliver mixed precipitation to many of the same areas that were affected on Saturday. However, the wintry mix will also extend eastward, in the big news is that it will deliver snowfall in 3 states.

Sunday will bring mixed precipitation to portions of western, central and southern Washington, throughout most of Oregon, portions of northern and eastern California, parts of northern and western Nevada, throughout the entirety of Idaho, portions of western Montana, parts of western Wyoming, and portions of northern, central and western Utah.

Snow will fall over parts of central and northwest Idaho, southwestern and southern Montana, and into the Northwest corner and portions of Western Wyoming, according to the National Weather Service.
