The West: Summer 2021 preview
The forecast calls for a hot and dry summer with a strong likelihood of wildfires for the entirety of California, as well as central and western Nevada. The exception will be along the California coastlines, which will be cooler.
Dry early in the summer with a high fire risk for eastern Nevada, Utah, and western Colorado.
Expect drought and hot conditions for the rest of Nevada and Colorado.
There is a moderate risk of severe weather for southeastern Utah, as well as southwestern and south-central Colorado.

Northwest & Northern Rockies: Summer 2021 preview
Hot conditions are in the forecast for much of the northwest and northern Rockies. The only exception will be cooler conditions for the coastlines of Washington and Oregon. Otherwise, expect hot conditions for the majority of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, western and south-central Montana, as well as west Central and northwestern Wyoming.

Expect hot and dry early in the season with a high fire risk for Arizona, western and central New Mexico, and extreme West Texas. Weather conditions late in summer as monsoon season moves in.
There is a moderate risk of severe weather for eastern, central, and north-central Arizona.

Throughout an anticipated above-average Atlantic hurricane season, there is a tropical threat all along the Atlantic throughout Florida, southeastern Georgia, central and eastern South Carolina, and eastern North Carolina.
There is a moderate risk of severe weather along the Gulf of Mexico for Alabama and Florida, as well as along the Atlantic for Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
Upper Midwest, Ohio Valley & mid-Atlantic: Summer 2021 preview
Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the summer for Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota. Strong thunderstorms for southeastern Minnesota, central and eastern Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, southern New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts.
There is a moderate and higher risk of severe weather for the upper Midwest and Ohio Valley.
There is also a moderate risk of severe weather along the Atlantic for Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Eastern New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
