Severe Weather in South, Flood Threat Extends to Ohio Valley

A severe weather threat and a tornado watch over six states in the South, flooding threat extends from the Gulf to the Ohio Valley, thousands without power in Texas, freezing rain in the North, snow to the West, 3-day forecast.

Tornado watch: East Texas; Louisiana, Gulf Coast along Texas-Louisiana.

Flood watch: east Texas, northern Louisiana, southern, central, and northeastern Arkansas; western Tennessee.

Coastal flood advisory: eastern Louisiana, southern Mississippi, southwestern Alabama, western Florida Panhandle.

Winter storm warning: northern Minnesota.

Winter weather advisory: northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, northern Michigan, eastern Nebraska; north-central Kansas.

High wind warning and wind advisories for portions of: northern Texas, northeastern New Mexico, southeastern Colorado, central and western Oklahoma, central and western Kansas; eastern Nebraska, western South Dakota, eastern Texas, Louisian,; eastern Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, western Florida Panhandle, central and western Tennessee, and southern California.

Monday’s severe weather has left at least 57,000 without power in Texas after tornadoes moved through the area, as many of the same regions will be under a similar threat on Tuesday.

Tuesday: Severe weather brings tornado and flood threat

Thunderstorms over the eastern half of the US will bring a severe weather threat in the South over portions of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. A tornado watch has been issued in several states.

Heavy rain will bring a flood threat over parts of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, the western Florida Panhandle, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Mixed precipitation over the central US, upper Midwest, and parts of the Northeast will bring the potential for freezing rain over portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Michigan, and New York. A wintry mix over parts of Washington, Nebraska, and New Mexico in the West.

Snow in the West over parts of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and the western Oklahoma Panhandle.

Wednesday: Severe weather, flooding in southeast; freezing rain in the North

On Tuesday, thunderstorms over the eastern half of the US will bring the threat of severe weather over the southeast and parts of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. A flooding threat over northern Florida and the Panhandle.

Mixed precipitation over the central US, upper Midwest, Great Lakes area, and the Northeast will bring the threat of freezing rain over parts of Wisconsin, northern Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. A wintry mix over parts of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana in the West.

Thursday: Freezing rain in Northeast, thunderstorms along Eastern coast
