Astronauts aboard the International Space Station always have the most breathtaking view of natural events occurring on planet Earth.
Hurricane Dorian is no exception. This recently released video of the storm from the ISS is truly stunning — and helps bring some perspective into just how large these storms are. Former astronauts have commented on just how life-changing it can be to see the Earth from such a distance. Things suddenly look very small and fragile. Seeing a monstrous storm like Dorian pushing across the surface of our beautiful planet but be distressing for the men and women manning the International Space Station.
Destruction may be Dorian’s lasting legacy, especially in the Bahamas, but humankind watching the terrifying beauty of Mother Nature from orbit is a true achievement.
