We all look forward to the fun of summer, kids most of all, but the coronavirus has shut down many of the traditional summer activities, and social distancing and masks are still essential.
By now, you may be asking yourself what CAN you do to enjoy the summer sun with your family.
Public pools are closed, and will probably remain so for the summer. Some amusement parks are opening with limited attendees at any one time, and spacing in the lines for rides. However, many zoos and state parks ARE open as they are better able to control social distancing.
A fun and unexpected result of the pandemic is that drive-in movies are making a comeback! Some theaters long closed are reopening, while other communities are organizing movie nights in parking lots with large screens.
Many lakes and beaches are allowing visitors again, with areas marked out in six-foot circles. If you live near one, give it a try. Remember to wear plenty of sunscreen, and bring bug repellent. Mosquitos can spread diseases that are just as deadly as Covid-19.
